Espamundi: Brand Expansion (Live brief) - Research

There were several instagram feeds about languages that helped in defining the idea of how the client wanted to manage her social media. The main influence has been Spanish with Stefy, which helped in identifying the idea of using the each of the 3 columns to create a easily recognisible code for the users to follow and learn new idioms. By establishing a continuity and a consistency on how the content is delivered, the users know what to expect from this feed.

Also, Habla Ele, despite of its lack of design principles, has been incredibly helpful to see how they compress lessons in images.

SpanishPpost notes was a good inspiration to see how something incredibly simple can also be incredibly helpful to learn vocabulary.

For the Facebook images that are going to be used as a cover of the blogposts, a great inspiration has been the twitter's feed from TheFutur. They deliver content in different formats, so they have many different types of images to associate to podcasts, youtube videos, blogposts, courses, etc.

There are some images that need more work to make, that are more customised and others that can be infinitely produced as many times as needed. Of course variety is good to keep the audience engaged, but for a small business that want a file they can modify to have a picture ready to post it's not the best approach. Espamundi needs something fixed, that only the text needs to be changed and make them independent with the designs that have to be made.

For a project like this it was considered that it was important to give a proper hierarchy to the content and how the way it is displayed will eventually determine how understandable it will be. Lars Müller and its book "Josef Müller - Brockmann. Pioneer of Swiss Graphic Design" was incredibly helpful in identifying these aspects of design, as Swiss design is widely known for being clear and functional.

The ones that were highlighted were those that had 2 to 3 levels of hierarchy, that gave a sense of structure and simplicity.

This was also an image that was helpful in identifying how to include the photography of the teacher in the design for the Gumtree advert.
